These are pretty easy to make, and you can make the individual pieces ahead of time then use them as you need to make flowers.

Make the petals.

Start by adding edible glue to one strip of wafer paper, adding wires to it then sandwiching another strip on top.

Cut out the petals, you can do this ahead of time and make a bunch of them so that they have time to dry a little before dusting them.
Color the petals and make the center.

Dust the petals with a variety of colors to give them some depth. Make the color darker toward the center where the wire sticks into the petal and make it lighter toward the edges.

Make a center by wrapping a piece of wafer paper around a hooked wire and pressing it into a tiny bud shape. Dust the center with color to match the petals.
Tape the flower together.

Tape the petals around the center.
Trim the petals if any of them are too big after the flower is put together and you can see what the petals look like compared to each other.

You can vein these petals or not, when they’re bunched together on a cake they’ll look good regardless of whether they have veins or not.
