Some tips for making wafer paper pansies:
- Use oil-based colors to prevent the wafer paper from melting. This can mean using candy colors, which are oil-based, or making your own paints using petal dusts and vegetable oil.
- Get a photo of pansies to use as a model so that you can see where to put the colors.
- Let the color dry before adding the darker details to prevent smearing.
- Pansies have 5 petals, 4 in the back and one larger one in the front.
- Wire the petals by sandwiching two pieces of wafer paper together with the wire in between, veining them if you want to.
