Pretty Pink Wedding Cake Ideas, From Simple To Elegant

Pink is one of the classic colors for wedding cakes, whether it’s on the cake itself or just on the flowers that are arranged on the cake.

There are a lot of ways to incorporate pink into the cake design, and these are some of the wedding cakes I made in the past.

Wedding cakes with pink flowers.

The most commonly-used pink flowers on wedding cakes have to be roses, with peonies a close second.

You can also use more unusual types, though, either as filler or a main flower, since most flowers have different colors that include some shades of pink.

This tiered cake with pillars had gumpaste roses in different shades of pink on the tiers and on the top of the cake.

This stacked wedding cake had a similar arrangement of pink and orange gumpaste roses as the first one, but you can see how it looks totally different without the top tier being on pillars.

This tall wedding cake had fresh pink and ivory roses between the tiers, which were elevated on pillars.

The top tier had the bride’s toss bouquet on it as a topper.

Pink fondant flowers wedding cake.

This cake that was made to look like ruched fabric was covered with a cascade of pink fondant flowers.

The flowers were molded instead of formed by hand with individual petals, so they were a lot faster to make.

Lace wedding cake with pink focal flower.

This pretty piped lace cake had a couple of large gumpaste peonies on it.

Having one large focal flower is an economical way to make a statement on your cake, because you only have to have one or two gumpaste flowers made instead of an entire cascade of them.

Pretty swirled icing with pink and white flowers.

This swirled buttercream icing wedding cake had a few pink peonies, and white gumpaste lilacs as the filler flower around them.

Pink peonies with green leaves wedding cake.

white piped wedding cake with pink gumpaste peonies

This wedding cake was covered in swirly piped buttercream, and had a single arrangement of gumpaste flowers on it.

The flowers were pink peonies and white hydrangeas, and the green leaves behind the group set them off against the white of the cake.

I always liked adding some greenery to cake flowers to make them look a little more realistic.

Pink peonies are obviously a popular choice for cake flowers, a lot of the ones that I made had those flowers on them.

This little two-tiered cake was a smaller version of the one that’s a little farther up the page, and it shows how you can scale down a larger wedding cake for a smaller reception.

If you want to go farther into the pink color theme, you can add pink to the color on the icing of the cake.

Be careful if you do this, though, because pink can be overwhelming if it’s dark and if it covers a lot of the surface of the cake!

Isomalt flowers with pink fondant and gold.

This pink wedding cake had gold isomalt flowers.

Isomalt is a sugar that’s used for cake decorating and sugar work, and not all cake decorators do it.

But if you can find someone who’s familiar with it, you can have them make transparent flowers that can be used on a cake to make it look like it’s decorated with glass flowers.

This is the kind of cake decoration that you can DIY, because not smoothing out icing is the easiest way to go!
